With Amanda Rae
A growing body of evidence-based research links the mind and body to our overall health and wellbeing. We generally understand how exercising and training the body can improve its condition, however, it is not as simple to see how exercising and training the brain can improve its condition. Wellness can be felt in our bodies and observed in our minds. The mind-body connection reveals how our thoughts influence our actions; and our behavior influences our thoughts.
According to the National Science Foundation, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts. These thoughts tend to dwell in the past or anticipate the future which can lead to depression, anxiety, or other distracting and destructive patterns. When we pay less attention to the myriad of thoughts that pass through our minds, we achieve mental clarity, emotional control and a stable state or homeostasis. This state of being is where healing can happen.
The benefits can be life altering and they include:
Boost the immune system
Improve emotional health
