When Should I Consider Hormone Replacement Therapy?


When you've gone 12 months without a menstrual period, you are in Menopause. On average women hit this milestone at 51, however, it could occur in your 40's or 50's.

While Menopause is a natural biological process the physical symptoms, and emotional symptoms of menopause, may lower your energy, disrupt your sleep, or affect emotional health. While this is a natural process in the female body, there are treatments available such as hormone therapy.

Perimenopause Symptoms

Perimenopause is the stage of the process your body is n leading up to menopause. During this phase you might experience the following symptoms:

  • Irregular periods

  • Vaginal dryness

  • Hot flashes

  • Chills

  • Night sweats

  • Sleep problems

  • Mood changes

  • Weight gain and slowed metabolism

  • Thinning hair and dry skin

  • Loss of breast fullness

Changes in menstruation, can vary among women but likely, you'll experience some irregularity in your periods before they end. Skipping periods during perimenopause is typical. Women may experience a brief pause with no period for a month or shorter cycles making them closer together to name a few.
